The shooting occurred shortly after 1 am. A gunman who shot and wounded an Azusa police officer before being killed in a shootout with police was identified Thursday as a 32-year-old Los Angeles man officials said. The officer is expected to recover however the suspect died at the scene. An Azusa police officer was severely injured and one suspect was killed in a shootout Wednesday afternoon authorities confirmed.
